Good board, slow shipping

I bought a Maple Butcher Block. The board itself is solid and heavy, really nice quality. But it took 5 days for the order to even ship out which was a bit long for me. Packaging was good though.

Quality Walnut Board, good support

I recently ordered a Walnut Cutting Board from John Boos. The ordering process was straightforward on their site. It shipped in about 3 days and got to me (in California) within a week after that. The board itself is beautiful, very smooth, and chunky. I had a question about oiling it so I used their online chat. The rep was helpful and answered my 'How often should I oil my Boos Block?' question quickly. I just wish they offered free shipping more often, even for smaller items.

Hey has anyone used one of their big butcher block islands? Wondering if it's worth the price jump compared to something from Williams Sonoma or even like, a custom local shop.

I have a big one, the Cucina Americana, for about 3 years now. Still looks awesome, just gotta keep up with the oiling. Build quality is definitely a step up from the stuff you see at WS imo, feels way more substantial.

Yeah, they're expensive for sure! But my parents have had one for like 15 years and it's still solid. I think part of it is where they're made too, in Illinois, which is kinda cool. Much better than some of the flimsier stuff out there.
